In the role of Claim Edit/Denial Coder you'll be responsible for reviewing and resolving claim rejections and denials. If you can put your signature on this, we can't wait to hear from you!

ABOUT THE POSITION

  • Review and resolve Pro fee and Facility claim rejections and denials for multiple specialties including the following:
    • NCD/LCD Medical Necessity
    • MUE o Primary DX code edits
    • NCCI Edits o Device Code edits
    • Modifier edits o Place of Service
  • Identify billing and coding issues with individual claims, notifying billers for correction.
  • Review patient medical records to compare documentation and coding; change coding based on documentation to include diagnosis codes, modifiers, place of service, etc.
  • Investigating and resolving coding related denials from payers, preventing lost reimbursement and promoting denial prevention
  • Other duties may be assigned.


Position Requirements:

  • Education
    • Minimum of 2 years of Medical Coding experience required.
  • Certifications Required
    • CCS
    • CCS-P
    • CPC
    • RHIT
    • RHIA
  • Experience
    • Experience with CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS and Modifiers.
    • Experience with Professional Fee Coding
    • Experience with Facility coding

General Areas of Accountability:


Must conduct business and personal affairs in a manner that is always a credit to the company. Must maintain a good credit rating while employed with the company.

    Performance Management:
  • All Signature Performance associates are subject to regular performance management to determine if skills and training requirements are suitable for the position

Machines and Equipment:


The incumbent must be able to effectively operate the current computer system, telephone system, and other office machines such as copiers and fax machines.


Physical Activity:

  • The incumbent must be able to finger, grasp, feel, see, sit, hear, and speak. This position is sedentary in nature with minimal lifting requirements.


Working Conditions:


The incumbent works in an office environment that is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions such as heat, cold, or extreme noise. Routine periods of being on the phone utilizing a headset, sitting and data keying are required.

  • Remote Eligibility: This position is full-time remote eligible. Eligibility is determined by Management or Talent Operations.


U.S. Citizenship is Required for All Positions and Work on All Positions Must Be Completed in the Continental United States, Alaska, or Hawaii.
