Description

 

The Home Repair Program Associate provides support to the Home Repair Loan Program in serving low- and moderate-income households with the goal of sustaining safe housing. Key aspects of the position include assisting potential participants in the application and intake process, advocating for the Habitat Omaha Home Repair Loan programs and services through participation in outreach activities that target the diversity of the Omaha community. This role will also support the work of the Home Improvement team in new initiatives and projects. The Home Repair Program Associate will report to the Lead Home Repair Program Associate.

 

The Home Repair Loan Program offers qualified homeowners’ interest-free loans for exterior home repairs. The program continues the Habitat mission and meets the community’s needs for improvement. 

 

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide and present information to neighbors and the community members regarding the Home Repair Loan Program.
  • Respond to homeowner inquiries and assist to project completion.
  • Track contacts. 
  • Follow up with homeowners and applicants via phone, email, and in person.
  • Review department “Home Repair” voicemail and email inboxes regularly.
  • Navigate overall Home Repair Loan Program application process.
  • Maintain knowledge HFHO Underwriting Guidelines.
  • Provide regular updates of Home Repair Loan Programs data in Buildertrend and Encompass.
  • Organize and file loan documents as files move through the program.
  • Work with title company as needed.
  • Accountable. 
  • Attend community meetings and outreach opportunities as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Experience in residential construction is preferred.  
  • Outstanding oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills including negotiation and persuasion with a variety of diverse audiences.
  • Public speaking experience. 
  • Excellent organizational, planning, multitasking, and time management skills.
  • Detail driven.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated computer skills with MS Office suite and similar programs.
  • Goal-oriented professional who is self-motivated and team-oriented.
  • Must have service-oriented compassion for people of all backgrounds and a desire to end substandard housing.
  • Flexible and willing to advocate for Habitat Omaha.
  • Complete required training for residential loan underwriting and processing. 

 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to sit at a desk or computer for extended periods of time. 
  • Ability to drive to offsite meetings.

 

Education Requirements:

  • Associate or bachelor’s Degree is preferred. 
  • ABA certification within 30 days of hire.
