POSITION SUMMARY:

Staff Accountant II has responsibility over operations of the accounting function. Initiates and makes recommendations on improvements in accounting operation.

POSITION-SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Assists the Controller in accounting for, and reporting on, all financial transactions
Assist with monthly posting and reconciliation of assigned transactions
Prepare monthly journal entries as assigned
Overseas the deposit and control of cash management, including cash flow reports
Assist in payroll processing
Prepares reconciliation of monthly bank statements and investment accounts
Responsible for the fiscal management of all city, county, state and federal grants
Prepares journal vouchers covering non-cash transactions (depreciation, accrues interest, expired insurance, adjustments to previous entries, accounts receivables and reimbursements, etc.)
Perform monthly posting and reconciliation of assigned general ledger transactions
Assist in preparing the UDS, Medicare and Medicaid cost reports

Other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
Licensure: N.A.
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years
Expertise: Computer operations, including Word and Excel
Language: English
Hours of Work: 8:00am – 5:00pm, Monday - Friday
