A/R Billing Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing invoicing, posting payments, and maintaining accurate A/R records. Key duties include preparing and mailing invoices, processing transactions in Workday, and providing exceptional customer service. The role also involves monitoring outstanding balances and handling account adjustments. Strong communication skills and the ability to establish professional relationships with customers and agencies are essential.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

Conducts billing procedures.

  • Prepares, prints, audits, and mails invoices.

  • Posts A/R payments; recognizing prepayments and overpayments of services.

  • Prepares requisitions to refund overpayments to customers and other agencies.

  • Provides customers and agencies with information regarding billing procedures; provides requested information when needed.

  • Establishes and maintains professional relationships with agencies and customers using effective communication.

  • Monitors and processes transactions in Workday; prepares partial billing transactions for admitting and departing youth and maintains comprehensive records.

  • Monitors A/R in Workday and follows up on outstanding balances with the customer or agency.

  • Maintains A/R records and documents adjustments to accounts, including write-offs and increases or decreases in payments.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements pertaining to accounts receivable and billing.

  • High level of professionalism and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

  • Ability to communicate in an articulate, professional manner while maintaining necessary degree of confidentiality.

  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and multi-task while maintaining quality standards.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience including accounting and administrative required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate's degree preferred.
