Job Description for: Overnight Hotel Housemen
Department: Guest Services/Housekeeping
Reports to: Executive Housekeeper, Housekeeping Supervisor, Manager on Duty and Assistant General Manager
Level: Hourly
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Clean and maintain common areas within the hotel
• Shovel snow in walkways and emergency exits
• Assist with minor maintenance issues
• Assist with bellman duties
• Assist housekeeping staff with laundry removal and unit cleaning as well as delivering clean linens to housekeeping carts
• Clean and maintain lobby, all public areas, entrance doors, and bell trolleys including snow removal
• Assist with general office errands
• Drive shuttle van for airport guests in the absence of Valet Parking Attendants
• Drive valet guest vehicles in the absence of Valet Parking Attendants
• Assist guests with general questions and inquiries
• Assist front desk during busy periods
Job Requirements:
• Must be neat, professional and well-groomed
• Must possess good organization/time-management skills
• Must be a self-motivator and work with little supervision
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds (lifting above the shoulder is also required)
• Ability to relate well to Hotel guests and employees
• Guest-service oriented - team player
• High initiative/self-starter and good communication skills
• Professional in demeanor and presentation
• Personable, enthusiastic, self-motivated and able to work independently
• Ability to learn quickly
• Observant and detail-oriented
• Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• Positive attitude and outgoing personality is essential
• Must be available to work first, second, or third shifts, weekends and holidays
• Dependable and reliable
• Valid Driver’s License-MUST BE 21 YEARS OF AGE
• Other requests as made by the General Manager, AGM, MOD, Front Desk Supervisor, Executive Housekeeper, and Housekeeping Supervisors
