POSITION SUMMARY:

The Human Resources (HR) Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the smooth execution of all HR processes and systems, ensuring efficient employee lifecycle management. This role will manage day-to-day HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, payroll, benefits administration, employee records maintenance, policy implementation, and compliance with employment laws. The HR Operations Manager will aim to optimize the employee experience and contribute to overall business objectives.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Demonstrate leadership by championing Lozierâ??s Mission, Vision, and Values and living the Lozier Leadership Model.
  • Work collaboratively company wide, across departments, and at all levels of the organization to align with company goals, objectives, and projects.
  • Create, implement, and monitor front-line compliance processes, across the employee lifecycle, to ensure internal and vendor compliance with HR processes, laws, and company policies.
  • Streamline HR workflows and identify areas for process improvement.
  • Monitor HR trends, best practices, and changes in employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance and recommend enhancements.
  • Create, implement, monitor process to manage HR vendor contracts.
  • Generate reports on key HR metrics (employee turnover, workforce demographics, performance trends) to support the Corporate Balanced Scorecard and plant facilities.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and inform strategic HR decisions.
  • Support internal and external auditors by providing documentation and/or answering any questions.
  • Create and manage the HR department budget and monitor expenditures.
  • Oversee the recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and offers.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive onboarding program for new hires.
  • Oversee employee benefits enrollment and changes.
  • Coordinate with insurance providers to resolve benefit-related issues.
  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
  • Monitor payroll compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Address employee concerns and complaints and facilitate resolution.
  • Create, implement, and monitor process for completing investigations, progressive discipline, and performance improvement.
  • Collaborate with training & development team to identify training needs and develop training programs.
  • Manage employee performance reviews and career development plans. 
  • Collaborate with HRIS team to implement and maintain HR technology systems, conduct system upgrades, and develop user training.
  • Demonstrate regular attendance and timeliness in reporting to work, meetings, and completing assignments.
  • Ability to work and interact well with others.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: â??Bachelor degree in human resources, business, organizational development, or another related field is preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 10 years in human resource roles or equivalent experience, if degreed. Minimum of 14 years in human resource roles or equivalent experience, if non-degreed. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a managerial role.

Required Skills:

  • Basic PC skills (Microsoft Excel, Work, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of HR best practices and trends.
  • Proven experience in payroll administration and employee benefits management.
  • Strong understanding of employment laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge of HR systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated presentation and communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiar with labor (union) employment laws and regulations
  • Professional certification in HR, such as SHRM-CP or PHR.
  • Agile certification or process improvement certification.
  • Change management certification.
  • Previous experience with Workday.

SPECIAL DEMANDS

  • Periodic travel including overnight stays. Must maintain a valid driverâ??s license.
  • Ability to navigate in a manufacturing environment, including navigating stairs.
