About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director for Development with a strong commitment to its mission. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and implementing a comprehensive, multi-year fundraising strategy to significantly increase financial contributions. This role requires a leader with a proven track record in fundraising, particularly with major gifts, and a deep understanding of the local and national philanthropic community. The Executive Director will be expected to build and nurture strong relationships with foundations, corporations, and individual donors, as well as to work closely with the board, external partners, and the community to foster a philanthropic culture. The ideal candidate should be a self-starter, highly organized, and possess excellent communication skills, and be a builder of programs, people, systems, and processes. Applicants for the Executive Director for Development position at the company must have a minimum of 8-10 years of relevant work experience, with an undergraduate degree required and an advanced degree preferred. The role demands a candidate who is computer literate, particularly with Microsoft Office and donor management applications, and who can work effectively in a shared model space. The ability to work onsite and to be available for evening and weekend events is essential. The Executive Director will play a pivotal role in the organization, guiding and building a philanthropic culture, and is expected to be a special leader capable of achieving significant fundraising goals.
